Epigenetics is an emerging field of science that refers to changes in human genes
that last for multiple generations, changes that are caused by non-genetic factors!
So, for example, coal miners have been found to have non-smoker grandchildren that succumb to lung disease without those children ever being in an environment linked causatively to lung disease. We investigate and debate the implications for future generations relative to our pill-popping culture and/or the pesticides, chemicals, and drugs in our water and food supply. What about epigenetic affects on the bees and dying populations of bats? Do we need to re-evaluate our ideas about evolution? And why does epigenetic research only reveal that something negative is passed along epigenetically? Why can't Joe the Plumber epigenetically create a left-wing Pulitzer Prize winning Politician who drinks bottled water? Interviews with Genentech and pharmaceutical execs, anti-evolution Evangelical leaders, Cloning experts, Designer Babies doctors, Alec Baldwin (anti-cloning), Comedians, and Evolution scholars. ["Doctor, there's a ghost in my genes." "Did you buy them used?"]
